Craziest Concert Ever

On May 31st I got lucky enough to see Khalid in concert at Echo Beach! I really like his music and its so cool how much he has accomplished only being 2 years older than me!

Anyways, I was really excited to see him in concert and even left straight after third period (1:15) to wait in line for the concert which started at 8:00pm. The concert was outside so my friends and I wanted to get there early to get a good spot at front- short people problems!

We ended up getting there around three-ish and ate hot dogs from a hot dog cart, even though the vendor kept ripping people off! He wouldn't hand back the right amount of change to some people and I think people either didn't notice or didn't want to complain. 🤷

Then for the next two hours, it was actually pretty peaceful. Unfortunately, we had to sit in direct sunlight and was one of those days  where I forgot sunscreen but people kept to themselves and sat and waited patiently.

Then all of a sudden there was a lot of commotion at the front of the line and people started running- (sprinting) to the front! Honestly, it was kind of scary because I thought I would get separated from my friends and now instead of a calm and orderly line we were all packed like sardines! 🐟 People who had started lining up at 11:00 also were getting upset that people who had came much later than them were in front of them. To add to this situation, it was only 5:00 pm at this point and doors still didn't open until 7:30 pm! I also really had to use the washroom and was kinda scared people wouldn't let me back in but that all worked out fine and the washrooms were actually kind of nice for a outside venue, yay!

Finally, the doors opened and once we got through security, we were able to make our way to the stage. People, including us, started running at this point again, but security kept yelling because they didn't want people to get hurt. So we speed walked to the stage and luckily got a spot pretty close!

We waited around half an hour for the opening act, Pretty Much to come on. But, literally as soon as they sang their first note, it started POURING  RAIN. It was so heavy that people were just cheering at random moments, during the song because you couldn't hear a word they were singing. I didn't think it was going to rain at all and had no rain jacket, and no umbrella too. 😐 My friend and I were hanging my jean jacket over our heads as protection, needless to say, we got DRENCHED.

Finally, the management stopped their performance after only 5 minutes, while they were mid song, and this is where things got pretty wild. The boys walked off the stage and then that was that. There was no announcement from the security or management teams, so as we stood in the pouring rain, we watched as the team covered the speakers with plastic bags and began taking screens and lights down.

People were now angry, the team started throwing beach balls into the crowd in an attempt to distract us, but people were still upset and began chanting, "RAIN OR SHINE", "WE WANT KHALID", and singing Khalid's lyrics as the rain began to die down. At this point I thought the concert was going to get cancelled and just wanted to know what was going on, so I wouldn't have to waste my time.

But eventually, the show started again and Khalid came on!!!! It was so worth it! He was so happy and energetic and his dancing was so fun! Some of my favourite songs he performed were Winter, 8teen and Let's Go.

Then we took the train home, which was packed because there was Sam Hunt and Luke Bryan concert at the Roger's Concert that night too, so we sat on the stairs and got back home around 12:30.

Even though, it was crazy I so happy I went and got to see him live! Plus, I got an awesome story to share!  😉
