Sepember Changes
Even though September is towards the end of the annual year, it is a new beginning for many as the start of school and another school year. However, with me being on a gap year I didn't really think much would change. But, I am excited to say things did! I made a list of the new things that came with September.
1) Fencing
Since I will be applying to university in the next couple of weeks, I have not only been thinking about what I want to major in, but also how and in what ways I want to get involved in the university. I always thought that I would just join a varsity fencing team or club, but my thinking has changed in the last couple of weeks. I recently had the amazing opportunity to attend my first wheelchair fencing competition in Saskatoon and I loved it so much! It is definitely something I want to pursue in the future and even though it is affecting my decision of where I will go to university, I so excited to start training!
2) YouTube
Another change that happened this month was the fact I started a YouTube channel! I have been wanting to start one for a while and especially now that I am on a gap year I thought it would be a cool way to document everything that happens this upcoming year! In total, I already got 50 views on my channel which is pretty exciting!
3) Job
This month both my sister and I got our first jobs. We started applying in late August and it was definitely and still is a learning curve. From filling out resumes and going to interviews, I learned a lot from the experience. Luckily, one place wanted to hire me and even though my still getting used to the work life and make mistakes on the daily, my managers and everyone who works there has been so nice, inviting and extremely helpful when I needed it the most!
Overall, September has been a really fun month and I am so excited for the rest of the year!
